After Glasgow, it was on to London via train.
We went to London specifically to see the Palace of Westminster (and we had to stop there anyway en route to our next destination).
Going to see Westminster is not unusual; most people who go to London see the Houses of Parliament.
It's kind of hard to miss the place.
But for L and LJ, seeing this building was extra special...
We left our home in Ottawa, Canada almost 2 weeks ago and are now officially travelling around-the-world for a year! It still doesn't seem real and we can hardly wrap our heads around it...
Our fist stop was Glasgow, Scotland!
I’ll be honest…The only reason we started in Glasgow was because it was the cheapest place to fly to in Europe during the month of July. Plus, we had never been to Scotland, so why not?!
We spent seven days in Scotland’s largest city, which might have been too long as the city is certainly not the prettiest in Europe and rather rough around the edges. However, we did find some real gems and had a good time.
Our last week at home in Ottawa was a good one.
We signed LJ up for her dream day camp – an FC Barcelona soccer camp. It was six hours a day of nothing but soccer and she loved every minute of it. It was just what she needed – a week of doing what she loves most and boosting her confidence rather than a week focussed on the fact that she was leaving her friends.
It also gave L and I some time to get stuff done…And there was A LOT to get done! We packed, we cleaned, we did errands, we freaked out a bit...
